Bessie Ray 
Bessie was born in 1903 in Alamance Co, NC. Bessie's father was John Henry Ray and her mother was Nora S. Painter. Her maternal grandparents were William 'Bill' J. Painter and Mary Elizabeth 'Mollie Bet' Yarbrough. She had two brothers named Monroe and John Ruffin. She was the oldest of the three children.General Notes
