Elmer's father was Billy and his mother was Martha Johanna ELMORE. His paternal grandparents were Humpy and Jane Burch. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas H. (Henry), George Franklin, Jessie, Charles M., Mike, Elizabeth and Cordelia. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Will, James Mattison, Sampson David and Mary Jane.-
