Elizabeth was born in 1529 in Darbyshire, England.1 Elizabeth's father was John Port and her mother was Elizabeth Giffard. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Giffard and Dorothy Montgomery. She had two sisters named Dorothy and Margaret. She was the oldest of the three children.-
