William was born in 1175 in Quy, Waterbeach & Huntingfield, Cambridgeshire, England.1   William's father was William Picot and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were Ralph Jordan Picot and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 43 in 1218.1
