Matilda PAYTON 
Matilda was born on March 15th, 1858 in Parke Co., Indiana.1 Matilda's father was James Franklin PAYTON and her mother was Elizabeth RUSH. Her paternal grandparents were Anthony PAYTON and Margaret WALLINGFORD. She had a brother and three sisters, named John A., Sarah Jane, Lucinda Francis and Sybil. She was the second youngest of the five children. She died at the age of 50 on February 4th, 1909 in Greene Township, Parke Co., Indiana. She was buried in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Parke Co., Indiana.2 1 General Notes
