Benjamin E, known as Ben, was born on July 24th, 1891 in Texas, USA. Ben's father was Doctor John F Neal and his mother was Clara Reno Akin. His maternal grandparents were Samuel David Akin and Mary Elizabeth Kinchloe. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Franklin, Freeman J, David Devaney, Tom, Lula B, Ella, May, Mary R, Elizabeth and Ruth. He was the third youngest of the eleven children.-
