Daniel M. was born about December 1909 in Virginia. Daniel M.'s father was William Oscar NORMAN and his mother was Mollie SETTLE. His paternal grandparents were James Gideon NORMAN Jr. and Lucy Catherine SCOTT. He had four brothers and five sisters, named James Turner, William B., Milton Daniel, Henry Howard, Lucy Ann, Susie Jane, Sallie J., Mary M. and Kay E.. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.-
