James Reed McGrew

James was born on August 18th, 1822 in Grayson County, Kentucky.¹ James' father was Reed McGrew and his mother was Mary (Polly) Fulkerson. His paternal grandparents were Robert McGrew and Dorothy Graham; his maternal grandparents were John Fulkerson and Margaret Bruner. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named Robert, John, Willis, Parmenas, Andrew, Oliver, Valentine, Sarah, Elmina, Margaret, Mary and Elizabeth. He was the third youngest of the thirteen children.
