Margaret L. "Maggie", known as Maggie, was born on January 22nd, 1857 in Kentucky. Maggie's father was Joseph Clayton MOREHEAD and her mother was Sarah Rebecca "Sally" (Sally) THOMAS. Her paternal grandparents were Gov. James Turner MOREHEAD and Susan A. ROBERTS. She was an only child. She died at the age of 52 on August 31st, 1909 in Daviess Co., KY..General Notes
In 1860 two-year-old Maggie was living with her parents in Jackson, Mississippi, where her father was an attorney at the state capital (they were enumerated with the Secretary of State). Her mother and father died in 1862 and 1863, respectively, and in 1870, she was attending school and living in Harrisville, KY., with her maternal grandparents, Doctor and Margaret Thomas (Doctor was a blacksmith) and her cousins: Mary (24), Emily (23) and Samuel (15) Thomas.
