Robert Garfield's father was Andrew Perry Land and his mother was Florence Constance Roberds. His maternal grandparents were Calvin Henderson Roberts and Malinda Jane Simpson. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Warnie, James Henry, Raleigh, Hugh Homer, Nancy, Arzalia Senie, Alma, Carrie and Jennie May.General Notes
