Julius was born in 0272.  Julius' father was Emperor Gaius Flavius Valerius Constantius and his mother was Theodora Rome.  His paternal grandparents were Flavius Eutropius of the Gordiani and Claudia Crispina Illyria; his maternal grandparents were Africanius Hanibalian of Syria and Eutropia Crispina Crispus. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Hannibalianus, Constantius, Eutropia, Anastasia and Constantia.  He was the youngest of the six children. He had a half-brother named Constantine I The Great.
