William Herbert 
William was born in 1455 in Ragland, Monmouthshire, England.1 William's father was 1st Earl of Pembroke William de Herbert and his mother was Anne Devereux. His paternal grandparents were William ap Thomas of Raglan Castle and Gladys Gam; his maternal grandparents were Walter Devereaux and Elizabeth Merbury. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Walter, George, Philip, John, Thomas, Maud, Cecilie, Isabel, Anne and Catherine. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 36 on July 16th, 1491. He was buried in Tintern Abbey.2 1 -
