John Hancock 
John was born in 1582 in Twining, Gloucestershire, England.1 John's father was Edward Hancock and his mother was Alice Jeffries. His paternal grandparents were William Hancock and Ley. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Edward, Richard, Thomas, William, Elizabeth, Mary and Jane. He was the third oldest of the eight children.
