His paternal grandparents were Benjamin HARGAN and Mary Catherine ARNOLD. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Charles W., James A., Horace C., Arnold N., Thomas M., Silas V., HARGAN, Adda B., Lula E. and Leslie Lee. He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Phillip, Richard M. and Rosa Ellen.-
