Her paternal grandparents were Shadrach Shadric M. Foster and Nancy E Beauchamp. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Willie Ray, Charlie Jasper "Hoss", Vera Irene, Nan "Nannie" Evelyn and Stella. She was the youngest of the six children.-
