John FitzThomas was born in 1257 in Castle Woodstock, Athy, County Kildare, Leinster, Iteland.1   John FitzThomas' father was Baron Thomas FitzMaurice FitzGerald and his mother was Rohesia de St. Michael.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 59 on November 10th, 1316 in Castletown, Kildbrought, Kildare, Ireland.2
