Sarah Ellen was born on September 10th, 1867 in , Coles, Illinois, USA.1 Sarah Ellen's father was Van Doughty Eastin and her mother was Permilia Nees. Her paternal grandparents were Vanison Swearingen EASTIN and Sarah Sally M DOUGHTY. She had four brothers and a sister, named John, James A L Z, William Nathan, Adam Thomas and Eliza Jane. She was the second oldest of the six children.-
