William ELLIS 
William was born in May 1834 in Illinois.1 William's father was Laban ELLIS and his mother was Prudence WALLINGFORD. His maternal grandparents were Joseph WALLINGFORD and Elizabeth WILLETT. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Joseph Thornton, John Sebold, James Mark, George Washington, Harriet Jane, Indiana, Mary Ann, Rachel Elizabeth and Sarah Emelyne. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He had a half-brother named William Harrison. He died at the age of 82 on January 17th, 1917 in LaGrande, Oregon.1 General Notes
