William E. was born in 1865.1 William E.'s father was Fauntleory Dye and his mother was Sophronia White. His paternal grandparents were Fauntleroy Dye and Elizabeth Young. He had seven brothers named Jesse M., James R., Jacob Lee, George Rama, John T., Jeremiah and Fauntleroy. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.General Notes
