Sir Archibald Douglas 
Archibald was born in 1297 in Douglas Castle, Douglas, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 Archibald's father was 5th Earl of Douglas William (le Hardi) de Douglas and his mother was Eleanor de Louvaine. His paternal grandparents were Sir William (Long Legs) de Douglas 3rd Ear of Douglas and Martha of Carrick; his maternal grandparents were Matthew de Louvaine and Helisant. He was an only child. He died as a war casualty, Battle of Halidon Hill, at the age of 36 on July 19th, 1333 in Halidon Hill, Berwick-on-Tweed, Northumberland, England.1 General Notes
