Sir John was born in 1446 in Tamworth Castle, Tamworth, Staffordshire, England. Sir John's father was Thomas II de Ferrers and his mother was Anne Hastings. His paternal grandparents were Thomas de Ferrers and Elizabeth De Freville. He had two sisters named Mabel and Anne. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 39 in 1485 in Luton, Bedfordshire, England.General Notes
