Count of Bourbon Archambaud VIII was born in 1189 in Dampierre, Jura, France.¹ Count of Bourbon Archambaud VIII's father was Constable of Champagne Gui II De Dampierre and his mother was Mahaut De Bourbon. His paternal grandparents were Guillaume I de Dampierre and Ermengarde De Mouchy. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Guillaume II, Gui III, Elizabeth, Philippe, Agnes and Marie.
