John was born in 1388 in Halsham, Holderness, East Riding, Yorkshire, England.1 John's father was William Constable and his mother was Elizabeth Metham. His paternal grandparents were John Constable and Maud Hilton; his maternal grandparents were Sir Thomas Metham and Maud Salvin. He had a brother named Robert. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 63 on January 14th, 1451 in Halsham, Yorkshire, England.2 General Notes
