Idonea Comyn

Idonea was born in 1148 in Altyre House, Moray, Scotland.¹ Idonea's father was Lord Tyndale, Justicular of Scots Richard Comyn and her mother was Hextilda Fitzuchtred. Her paternal grandparents were William Comyn and Maud Basset; her maternal grandparents were Huntred of Tynedale and Princess Bethoc of Scots. She had five brothers and a sister, named John, Odo, Simon, David, William and Margaret. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Simon, Henry, Duncan, Malcolm, Bedoch, Christina and Margaret.
