Laird of Finlarig Sir John's father was Laird of Glenorchy Duncan Campbell and his mother was Margaret Moncrieff. His paternal grandparents were Laird of Glenorchy Colin Campbell and Janet Stuart. He had a brother and three sisters, named Sir James, Annabelle Margaret, Catherine and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the five children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named 3rd of Glenorchy Sir Colin, 1st of Glenlyon Archibald, Patrick and Elizabeth. He died about 1575 in Finlarig Castle, Perth, Perthshire, Scotland.-
