Stephen was born in 1117 in Bulmer, North Riding, Yorkshire, England.1 Stephen's father was Lord Ferlington Aschetil de Bulmer and his mother was Humez Powther. His paternal grandparents were Alan de Bulmer and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were John Powther and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and a sister, named Ralph, Burtram and Sibyl. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 55 in 1172.2 -
