William was born in 1655 in County Clare, Ireland.1   William's father was John Bryan and his mother was Sarah.  His paternal grandparents were William Smith Bryan and Catherine Morgan. He had five brothers named John, Edward, Hardy, Council and Lewis.  He died at the age of 91 in 1746 in Virginia.1
