Henry was born in 1465 in Barmston, East Riding, Yorkshire, England. Henry's father was Thomas Boynton and his mother was Cecily Strangeways. His maternal grandparents were Sir James Strangeways and Elizabeth D'Arcy. He had a brother and three sisters, named Matthew, Anne, Jane and Isabel. He was the second youngest of the five children.-
