Jarrett was born on August 12th, 1778 in , Washington, Pennsylvania, USA. Jarrett's father was Alexander Bowling and his mother was Martha Patsey Williams. His paternal grandparents were William Bowling and Elizabeth Colclough. He had two brothers and five sisters, named John, William, Elizabeth, Mary, Elizabeth, Rachel and Jane. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 89 on July 31st, 1868 in Gentryville, Spencer, Indiana, USA.-
