His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Earl Bishop and Naomi Jane Shipley. He had a brother and two sisters, named William, Annie Pearl and Eula Velma. He was the oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother named Houston Franklin. He died at the age of 85 on May 26th, 1991 in Camp, Kaufman County, Texas, USA.General Notes
