Mary H. "Polly", known as Polly, was born on July 23rd, 1808. Polly's father was John BROWNING Jr. and her mother was Nancy PEEBLES. Her paternal grandparents were John Browning and Elizabeth DEMAREST. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Daniel, Nathan Peebles, David M., Francis John, William F., John V., Joseph Alanson, Elizabeth, Nancy, Patsy, Lucy Ann and Didema. She was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children.
