William David Ashley 
William David was born on April 25th, 1841 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. William David's father was John Oliver Ashley and his mother was Sarah "Sally" Morning Dye. His maternal grandparents were William Shadrick Dye and Sarah "Sally" Gordon. He had four brothers and four sisters, named James King, Uriah, Elias W, Robert, Martha, Sarah G, Mary and Minverva B. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 75 on February 22nd, 1917 in Kewanne, Henry, Illinois.-
