Martha Christina (Mattie) Akin 
Martha Christina, known as Mattie, was born on June 10th, 1856 in Redwater, Bowie Co, Texas, USA. Mattie's father was Collin McKinney Akin and her mother was Lucinda Frances Pinkerton. Her paternal grandparents were William (Bill) Collin Akin and Rebecca (Becky) McKinney. She had five brothers and three sisters, named James Franklin, Collin McKinney, William C, Robert Jackson, Richard, Rebecca Elizabeth, Emma and Ellie. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named David, William, John Watson, Martha Jane, Mary Jane and Nancy Ann. She died at the age of 65 on November 2nd, 1921 in Hooks, Bowie Co, Texas, USA.-
