Catherine was born on March 24th, 1803 in Mason Co., Kentucky.1 Catherine's father was Benjamin APPLEGATE and her mother was Hannah PETERS. Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Henry APPLEGATE and Mary Prudence WALLINGFORD. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Richard, Jacob, Benjamin, Samuel, Basil Burris, Solomon, Mary, Sarah Ann and Margaret. She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. She had three half-brothers named James, John and William Walter.-
