Joseph R. Simmons

Joseph R. was born on April 29th, 1853 in Van Buren Co, TN. Joseph R.'s father was Benjamin Lewis Simmons Sr. and his mother was Nancy Caroline Beatty. His paternal grandparents were Joseph N. Simmons and Mary Elizabeth 'Betty' Lewis. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Sidney, Charles Taylor, Benjamin Lewis, Sophronia F. and Margaret D.. He was the third oldest of the six children.
