Luther Jackson was born in September 1859 in Orange Co, NC.1   Luther Jackson's father was Capt. Andrew Jackson Roberts and his mother was Lucy A. Moore.  His paternal grandparents were Francis Roberts and Nancy Waggoner. He had two brothers named Francis 'Frank' and David Beauregard.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Charles Jackson, Andrew, Dewitt C. and Lucy R..  He died at the age of 76 on April 22nd, 1936 in Mangum, Durham Co, NC.  He was buried on April 23rd, 1936 in Mount Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery, Bahama, Durham Co, NC.1
