Gilbert Basset

Gilbert was born about 1103 in Wallingford, Berkshire, England.¹ Gilbert's father was Justice of England Ralph Basset and his mother was Alice de Buci. His paternal grandparents were Thurston Basset and Thurstine; his maternal grandparents were Robert de Buci and <Unknown>. He had a brother named Richard. He was the younger of the two children. He had two half-brothers named Thomas and Thurston. He died in 1166.¹
