‌Instance and Drusilla were married in a religious ceremony.¹   They had six sons and six daughters, named Instance, James M, Berrien Lewis, Seaborn, Thomas J, Eliza, Mary Ann (Pollie), Nancy, Carolina, Sophia, Sophronia and Drusilla.
