1   Sophia's father was Instance Hall and her mother was Drusilla Sellers.  Her paternal grandparents were Lewis Hall and Nancy Colly. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Instance, James M, Berrien Lewis, Seaborn, Thomas J, Eliza, Mary Ann (Pollie), Nancy, Carolina, Sophronia and Drusilla.1
