Bessie Young 
Bessie was born in Arkansas.1 Bessie's father was Thomas Cicero Young and her mother was Welch Maggie. Her paternal grandparents were John Young and Mary Frances Vaughan; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Jefferson Welch and Mary Paine. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas Cicero, George Everett, Nellie Josephine and Hester Irene.1 -
