Desire was born on August 17th, 1704.1   Desire's father was Thomas Wood and her mother was Hannah Rider.  Her paternal grandfather was Thomas Wood. She had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Deliverence, Content, Thomas, William, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Mary.1
