Valentine was born in July 1845 in Bensheim, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany.1   Valentine's father was Sebastian Weidner and his mother was Francesca Wetzel.  His paternal grandparents were Leonard Weidner and Christina Krick. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Leonard Heinrich, Heinrich Jacob, Karl, Katherina, Elisabeth and Margretha Johanna.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at 1 months old on August 9th, 1845 in Bensheim, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany.1
