Philipp was born on November 22nd, 1792 in Bensheim, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany.1   Philipp's father was Mathai Weidner and his mother was Anna Barbara Gumbel.  His paternal grandparents were Joannes Christopher Weidner and Anna Margretha Schultz; his maternal grandparents were Leonard Gumbel and Maria Magdalena Unknown. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Leonard, Leonard, Francis, Appolonia, Eva Marie, Anna Marie and Magdalena.  He was the youngest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Franz Ludwig, Laurence and Elizabetha.  He died at the age of 3 on June 1st, 1796 in Bensheim, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany.1
