Jane was born about 1848 in Tennessee.1   Jane's father was Levi Tucker and her mother was Margaret Etta McBride. She had two brothers and three sisters, named George, Andrewton Marion, Elizabeth, Sarah and Margaret.  She was the oldest of the six children.1
