Isaac A. was born about 1855.1 Isaac A.'s father was Morris Townsend and his mother was Sarah Cheairs. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Roderick Townsend and Nancy Permelia Dean. He had a brother and a sister, named Thomas Ray and Frances M.. He was the youngest of the three children. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Claudius D., Edward Frank B., John B., James Lee, Fredrick Jackson, Martha E., Nancy V. and Ida Mae.1 General Notes
