Peter A. was born on September 1st, 1846.1   Peter A.'s father was Nathaniel Baxter Terry and his mother was Lucinda Srygley.  His paternal grandparents were William T. Terry and Elizabeth Wadlington. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Joseph William, Samuel Shelton, Duke W., Mary D. and Sarah Baxter.  He was the second youngest of the six children.1
