Matilda was born on April 2nd, 1768 in Warwick, Franklin, MA.1   Matilda's father was Nathaniel Rich and her mother was Phebe Putnam. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Elisha, Nathaniel, Esau, Learned, Putnam, Mary, Sarah, Phebe and Elizabeth. She had a half-brother named Nimrod.  She died at the age of 50 on September 8th, 1818 in Shoreham, Addison, VT.1
