Matilda Francis was born on January 10th, 1844.1 Matilda Francis' father was Joseph Poley and her mother was Frances Gates. Her paternal grandparents were Charles Pouley Poley and Elizabeth Rowland. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin F., Peter F., Isaac F., Joseph, Charles M., Alonzo G., Mary C., Caroline and Louisa E.. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Elisha, Willie, Nancy C. and Lizzie.1 -
