Nicolas was born on October 23rd, 1664.  Nicolas' father was Nicolas Petit and his mother was Marie Pomponnelle.  His paternal grandparents were Nicolas Petit and Catherine Asselin; his maternal grandparents were Jean Pomponnelle and Michelle Boulet. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Louis, Jacques, Paul, Michel, Pierre, Jeanne, Marie Renee, Marie Gertrude and Marie Francoise.  He died in Varennes, Quebec, Canada.
