John A. Palmer

John A. was born on February 21st, 1821.¹ John A.'s father was Moses Smith Palmer and his mother was Pauline (Polly) Avery. His paternal grandparents were James Palmer and Abigail Smith. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Moses P., Robert S., Asa Avery, William Calvin, Henry A., John F., Mary Elizabeth and Caroline D.. He was the oldest of the nine children.¹
